Peter ILSTED ✿

Peter Wilhelm Ilsted (1861-1933) was a Danish printmaker and painter. He was most associated with domestic interior scenes. He was born at Sakskøbing in Guldborgsund, Denmark. He was the son of merchant Jens Peter Ilsted and Johanne Sophie Lund. He was the brother-in-law of painter Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864–1916). He married Ingeborg Lovisa Petersen (1869–1945) in 1891.

Alessio Issupoff/Aleksej Vladimirovic Isupov (Vjatka, 1889-Roma, 1957) was a russian painter and trained at the Moscow Academy from 1900 to 1913. Here he studied with the portrait painters Seroff, Wasnetzoff and Korovine, masters who brought him into contact with the styles of French Impressionism.

Charles GLEYRE (Swiss, 1806-1874) ✿

Charles Gleyre (1806-1874), was a Swiss artist who was a resident in France from an early age. He took over the studio of Paul Delaroche in 1843 and taught a number of younger artists who became prominent, including Henry-Lionel Brioux, George du Maurier, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Louis-Frederic Schützenberger, Alfred Sisley, Auguste Toulmouche, and James Abbott McNeill Whistler.

He is considered one of the most important painters from this academic period. He was also a teacher with a long list of students.

Rene GERIN (1862-1895) ✿

René Gérin was a French painter, born in 1862 and appears to have been most active during the 1880s and 1890s. A protegé of writer, translator, and French poet Judith Gautier that she was madly attracted to him  che era follemente attratta da lui (the first female member of the Académie Goncourt), whose portrait he painted at least twice, Gérin died young—1895, according to the list of deceased, life-time members of L’Association des Artistes annually published in their yearbooks. “Poor boy,” Gautier is quoted commenting sadly, praising his blossoming talent.

Edmond Louis DUPAIN (1847-1933) ✿

Edmond Louis Dupain (Bordeaux, 1847 - Paris, 1933) was a French painter. Edmond Louis Dupain was born in Bordeaux into a wealthy family. Given his evident inclination for painting, after his primary studies he was sent to Paris to follow the courses of the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. He then entered as a pupil in the ateliers of Alexandre Cabanel and Jean-Marie Oscar Gué.

Mosè Bianchi (Monza, 1840 – Monza, 1904) è stato un pittore italiano. Detto talvolta Mosè Bianchi di Monza. Figlio del pittore Giosuè e di Luigia Meani, fratello del pittore Gerardo Bianchi. Nel 1856 frequenta l'Accademia di Brera di Milano dove è allievo di Schmidt, Bisi, Zimmermann, Sogni e del direttore Giuseppe Bertini, avendo per compagni di corso Federico Faruffini, Tranquillo Cremona, Daniele Ranzoni e Filippo Carcano, con i quali dividerà per qualche anno lo studio milanese in via San Primo.

Raymond CHARLOT ✿

Raymond CHARLOT (1879 - ?) Belgian artist, student at the Academy of Louvain and Antwerp. Nominated twice for the Prix de Rome in 1904 and 1907. Preferred for landscapes, portraits, but he is mainly known for his female figures and "Art Deco".

Giovanni Costa, known as Nino (Rome, 1826 - Marina di Pisa, 1903), was an Italian painter, soldier and politician. A leading exponent of 19th-century Roman painting, he contributed to the dissemination of naturalistic ideas even among the members of the Macchiaioli pictorial movement. He is also remembered for having actively participated in Garibaldi's campaigns of 1848-49 and 1859.

Raymond THIBESART ✿

Raymond Thibesart (1874-1968) was a French Post-Impressionist whose subjects often included the landscapes of Italy, Switzerland, and the rest of mainland Europe. Thibesart was especially enamored with the river Seine, a subject that repeated itself again and again in his work. He was able to produce work into his old age, giving Thibesart a breadth and depth to his catalog that few other artists of his era can match.
