Zhaoming Wu ( 吴兆铭 ) is a chinese portrait painter was born in 1955 in Guangzhou (China). In 1979 he graduated from Shanghai College of Light Industry, majoring in decorative arts and modeling.
In 1983, he graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Guangzhou, China. Since 1995, he has been teaching in the Painting Department of the Graduate School of the San Francisco Academy of Fine Arts. As a professional artist, his works have been exhibited in Asia, Europe and the United States, and have won many international art awards.
Wu is known best for his figurative paintings. Inspired heavily by 19th century French painting, Wu describes his work as “representational, but not traditional classical.” This can be seen, as Wu uses modern elements of graphic design in his work.
