Zhao Kailin 赵开霖 is a Award Winning Artist and was born in 1961, in Bengbu, China. He graduated from Central Art Academy in Beijing in 1991 and is one of the most important and critically acclaimed Chinese masters of contemporary realism. During his intensive training, Zhao was exposed to the galvanizing portraits of Dutch Renaissance master Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669). He was also inspired by the luxuriant brushwork, jewel-like color and commanding manipulation of light and shadow of Italian Renaissance painter Carravagio (1573-1610).
