Toshiyuki Enoki 榎俊幸 - Japanese artist, born in 1961 in Tokyo. In 1986, he received a bachelor's degree in art, in 1988 a master's degree at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and in 1989 he completed his scientific work there. In 2001-2004, he was a teacher at the Department of Design at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Member of the Japan Artists Association since 2001. Member of numerous personal and group excerpts in various cities of Japan since 1987. He draws mainly with acrylics on canvas with ink and gold leaf.
In Japan, as earlier in China, the mythical Phoenix was adopted as a symbol of the imperial household, particularily the empress. This mythical bird represents fire, the sun, justice, obedience, fidelity, and the southern star constellations. The bird is also often seen with the Dragon,as the two are blissful lovers.
