Edson Campos is a master of photorealistic painting and drawing. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1955.
As a young child, Edson enjoyed sketching and painting. He moved to the United States in 1978 and quickly established himself as an artist of the highest caliber. He has exhibited his photorealistic paintings and drawings at major cities throughout the country where he has won many awards and gained much recognition. His sensual representation of the female form has been published in popular magazines and his work has been commissioned to grace the walls of all 500 rooms in the Queen Mary Hotel in Long Beach, California. Edson has participated in the acclaimed Art Expo New York, where his work was highly praised.
Edson has achieved so much success with his work that the November 1999 issue of The Artist's Magazine featured his work in a special section on painting techniques. His Artwork has been displayed at many Art Festivals throughout the country where he has claimed numerous awards. Orlando Modern Art Collection also honored Edson with the title of “Artist of the Year” in 2003. After traveling though Europe to study the masters (da Vinci, Michelangelo, Vermeer, Botticelli, etc.) he was inspired to create his “Master Series,” which merges old master paintings with new world women. Edson is self-taught and works in various medias such as oil, charcoal, pencil, and airbrush, allowing him to demonstrate his talent in all forms of wall art.
