Émile Vernon (1872-1919) was a French academic fine arts painter.
Studying at the School of Fine Arts Tours in the Loire Valley, France, he won his first design award in 1888. Encouraged by this success, he moved to Paris to train under William Bouguereau and Auguste Trouphème in the School of Fine Arts. Specializing in watercolors, Vernon loved to paint women and children using bright colors in cheerful rural and bucolic settings.
