IVAN LOUBENNIKOV/Иван Лубенников is one of the most important contemporary exponents of the Moscow art scene. As a leading painter, world traveller and professor at the Surikov Institute in Moscow, he sets his stamp on the figurative art of his country. His robust art is related to both the Russian and European painting traditions.
He was born in Minsk (Bielorussia) in 1951. He studied at famous V.I. Fine arts Academy between 1970 and 1976. He has graduated from the V.I. Fine Arts Academy in 1978. Between 1988 and 1992 he has been the vise director of the Association of Painters which he had been accepted in 1978. He has been giving lectures in the monumental painting atelier of V.I. Fine Arts Academy as an associated professor since 1994.
His works are in the private collections in the USA, Canada, Portugal, Australia, Japan, Italy, France, England, Holland, Poland, Germany, Russia, Spain, Austria, Yugoslavia, Greece, Russia, Cyprus, Czech Republic and Saudi Arabia.
